Acer, Dell and HP To Use AMD Server Processors

AMD has launched its new eight and 12-core x86 server processors that will be used in servers from hardware partners Acer, Cray, Dell, Digicor, HP and Xenon. With the launch of new eight and 12-core x86 server processors, AMD is all set to challenge the “second wave” of server requirements from enterprises. The new Opteron 6000 series will be catering four socket, eight socket and higher end two socket servers. The Opteron 6000 processors use the same architecture as that of the previous processors from AMD. AMD is also looking forward for launching 12-core and 16-core server processors. AMD has also confirmed that all the processors that will be released this and next year will be compatible with the AMD’s G34 socket. Where AMD previously offered three different platforms to cater for one to eight-socket servers, the processor manufacturer will now only offer two for all server platforms. The Opteron 6000 series, announced this week, will cater to four and eight-socket platforms, as well as higher-end two-socket servers. The Opteron 4000 “Lisbon” series processors are expected sometime before July, and will cater to one-socket and lower-end two-socket servers. The use of a single chipset over several server platforms will ensure that the “4P servers will be more accessible so that same APIs, BIOS code and same drivers across the different AMD servers. AMD has not officially announced the prices...

Google has taken its time to arrive at this phone’s very first introduction. The phone was built by HTC in cooperation with Google and is fully equipped with the latest version of Android operating system 2.1.The Nexus comes with its exquisite mix of power precision which makes it great such a great phone. It has fine specs quality which includes its 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a 512MB RAM. Loading up pages doesn’t take long; no pause effect seemed to occur. It has an Apple-Iphone Matching browser which brings about the rapid boot up of certain web pages. Multi Tasking appears to be fairly convenient. This feature comes greatly supported in this phone model. Compared to other smart phones, this phone’s multi tasking ability is handier. The phone’s OS seem to make all the traits of its being outstanding and all, the touch screen is highly responsive and over all, everything worked as smooth as we all wanted. The phone’s AMOLED screen is exceptionally bright and gorgeous enough to bring-about the most pleasurable entertainment in phones. The AMOLED screen’s brightness doesn’t seem to change unless it is suspended into bright sunlight. It has excellent contrast with vibrant bold colors which project images as vivid as it can be. And videos produced are quite decent. Several cool Web browsers work smooth and easy, and the LED flash camera takes decent pictures...

ASUS And Acer Come Together

Acer and ASUS have joined hands to compete with Apple’s iPad. ASUS and Acer the two Taiwan-based computer manufacturer have decided that they will be releasing tablet computers that will give competition to Apple’s iPad. ASUS and Acer along with the Taiwanese companies like Quanta Computer Inc., Compal Electronics Inc. and Wistron Corp. have engaged themselves to make and launch tablet PCs. With the launch of Apple iPad and the response Apple iPad got from its customers, these computer manufacturers are conducting tests and have decided that they will be launching tablet PCs in the third quarter of this year. Tablet PCs have been in the market for more than five years now. Microsoft was the first company to launch tablet PC. Microsoft came out with its first model of tablet PC in 2002 but it was unable to get good response. The reason for the failure of Microsoft’s tablet PC was extremely high price, bulky exterior along with poor software compatibility. On the other hand, Apple’s iPad has been a revolution in the market of tablet PC. The slim and ultra portable quality and some outstanding features have made Apple’s iPad favorite among the consumers that are looking to buy a tablet PC. While Apple is all set to release iPad this April, other computer manufacturers have taken the concept of tablet PC seriously. It is believed that...

Sony Ericsson Vivaz

This phone comes with its 3.2 inches touch-screen which makes everything very responsive. Its chassis seem to have adopted the technological phone structure called the “human curvature” which provides well with very handy grip. The structure has nice curvature designed to sit well on the hand. Its Resistive screen feature appears less impressive. This feature doesn’t seem to stand in prestige. The Vivaz follows the satio model as the second Sony ericsson phone model to follow the Symbian’s 5th edition in which, customizing of icons is available. Icons are more push able and the phone responds clearly to touches. It has a new glass screen which is responsible for the great responsive abilities. The menus were pretty much handy in navigation, so I might say certain issues regarding its performance is quite fair enough to provide necessary convenience to the user. The phone excels in certain fields regarding its media abilities, especially in terms of photography and capturing videos. This probably stands out among the rest of the qualities we have often seen on various phones. It excels mainly on recording HD videos. Doing such is available only at pixels of 720. A phone with such a size is good enough though. Video recording seems to be smooth enough to produce quality videos which are passable enough in contrast to its 24fps frame rate. The phone also has a...

Nokia X6

The X6 comes with its thick phone body, but it is light weight when held in hand. The model looks very familiar since its design was based on the Symbian S60 operating system. Hence, it would nearly look like other Nokia phone models which were also in the Symbian operating system basis. The Symbian OS has been powering Nokia for nearly ten years. Nokia X6 comes in two different versions. One with 32GB storage and comes with a music package. This would mean that downloads are unlimitedly available for a whole year. The other one is the 16GB version which is more basic compared to the 32GB. No downloading of music is offered in this phone version. Both differ by a hundred pounds regarding the price. The phone’s Touch-screen makes your phone capacitive enough but it may appear a bit futile on the other hand. This feature may seem to cause the phone to take time when loading something. And in my case, this pause loading effect pisses me off. But anyways it does not always mean the phone has to perform this way. Although some other Nokia phones may look like this one, it still has a very odd design. A slider is used to unlock the phone on its side. The touch-based browser’s inaccuracy is also a problem. You might find yourself more comfortable with the other...
