Microsoft® Office 2010 is the latest in the line of Office versions release by Microsoft®. As is the case with all the Microsoft® products, the new version comes with lots of new and improved features. However, this new software comes with a few different system requirements than the ones in the last Microsoft® Office version. Thus, while upgrading, you might not need new upgraded hardware, but you may need a new operating system that supports Microsoft® Office 2010. Additionally, Microsoft® Office 2010 comes with a new advanced interface called the Microsoft® Office Fluent user interface, which includes Backstage View, the Ribbon technology, and a Quick Access toolbar.

Ribbon

It is placed at the top of the page and can be accessed easily while using Microsoft® Office 2010. Also, to make your work easier and the application more organized, the Ribbon feature also gives the users contextual tabs to use. For instance, if you are working on a document with graphs, tables, and such applications, Ribbon provides you with a contextual tab containing all these applications.

Backstage View

This new component can be viewed and used by pressing ‘File’. It goes one step further than Ribbon and enables the user to use those features and applications that cannot be used otherwise, like sharing tools, printing tools, and more. Also, while working on a document, the user is not required to go to any other place to view the document-related information. Backstage View enables the user to see all the information at one place.

Quick Access

By using this toolbar feature, the user can place his/her most-used commands and buttons within easy view and reach. Also, the Quick Access toolbar appears above the Ribbon and includes all your often used commands. Further, you can also customize the listed commands on the toolbar by going to ‘Options’ and choosing the commands that you want to keep or remove from the Quick Access toolbar.
