How to get rid of system security Pop-Ups

System Security pop-ups appear on the screen when the computer is infected by a rogue Antivirus program with the same name. It not only causes serious damage to the computer but also leads people to purchase the useless software by running fake virus scans.

Instructions to get rid of System Security Pop-ups

Step 1: First of all, you need to back up your computer. To do this, click on the Windows ‘start’ button; select ‘All Programs’ and choose the ‘Accessories’ option. From there select ‘System Tools’ and click on ‘System Restore’.

Step 2: On the backup utility, click on ‘Create a New Restore Point’ and type a name for the restore point.

Step 3: To backup your computer, click ‘Create’.

Step 4: Restart the computer and keep pressing the F8 key till the Windows logo appears.

Step 5: Select ‘Safe Mode’ on the ‘Advanced Options’ menu. Then press the Enter button to log into safe mode.

Step 6: Click on ‘start’ and select ‘Run’; if you are a Windows Vista user, select ‘start’ and click on ‘start search’.

Step 7: In the command window, type in ‘regedit’ and then click on OK for launching the registry.

Step 8: To open the search window, press F3 and then search for and delete the following entries from the right panel of the registry.

Exit the registry once you are done.

Step 9: Click on ‘start’ and select ‘Search’ to open the search utility.

Step 10: Click ‘All Files and Folders’, then select ‘More Advanced Options’ and check all options.

Step 11: Search for to delete the following files:

05643921.exe

install.exe

%desktopdirectory%\system security 2009.lnk

%programs%\system security\system security 2009.lnk

%programs%\system security\system security 2009 support.lnk

Step 12: Click on ‘start’ and then ‘Run’ to type %UserProfile%Start Menu. Press Enter for launching the Start Menu folder.

Step 13: Therein double click on the ‘Programs’ folder. Locate the folder ‘System Security’ and delete it afterwards.

Step 14: Restart the computer after emptying the Recycle Bin.

Automatic Removal

Step 1: You can download and install a malware removal tool like Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware.

Step 2: When its installation is complete, launch the application and click on ‘Updates’.

Step 3: Click on ‘Check for Updates’ and close the program when the update is complete. It automatically downloads any new virus definitions

Step 4: Press Ctrl+Alt+Del for opening the Task Manager and click the ‘Processes’ tab.

Step 5: Click on ‘05643921.exe’ and select ‘End process’.

Step 6: Click on ‘install.exe’, select ‘End Process’ and close the Task Manager.

Step 7: Click the ‘Scanner’ tab after launching the malware removal tool. Select ‘Perform Quick Scan’ that would scan the registry and system folders for System Security files.

Step 8: When the scan is complete, click OK and select ‘Show scan results’.

Step 9: Check all the files detected as System Security and choose ‘Remove Selected’. After this, restart the computer after closing the program.

To avoid experiencing these irrelevant and annoying pop-ups, you must remove Security by going through the above instructions.
