VMware vSphere 4 Awarded as “Microsoft Best of TechEd 2010”

The global forerunner in cloud infrastructure and visualization solutions, VMware Incorporation, has found its cocoon to announce that VMware vSphere(TM) 4 was adverted as a Winner in the Microsoft Best of TechEd 2010 awards program. The product received millions of accolades for being in the category of Best Visualization Product by Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro(R) and SQL Server Magazine(R). In fact, vSphere’s popularity among over 10,000 customers, staff and partners that attended the conference brought it the label of “Microsoft Best of TenchEd 2010 Attendees Pick.”

The Best of TechEd 2010 awards categorize companies that bring out to the customers groundbreaking and new Microsoft partner products. The contest was kick started by the Penton Media judges who scanned over 298 products as well as services that were presented for the contest and meticulously selected 46 contenders who were to be questioned at the Microsoft TechEd, North America 2010 IT pro conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana on 9th June 2010. The names of the victors were much awaited until they were announced at the Hard Rock Cafe at the evening reception held on the same day.

“Choosing the best product in each of 16 categories — from our list of 46 products — was both daunting and exhilarating for our judging panel,” enjoined Jason Bovberg, Senior Editor of Windows IT Pro.

The Best of TechEd 2010 Attendees’ Pick is a distinguished award that goes to a product that has accumulated the maximum number of votes from over 10,000 attendees of TechEd. Year 2010 marked a steady increase in the acceptability of vSphere 4, which competed with over 50 products that were chosen for this award irrespective of any particular category.

“This is the third year that VMware has been honored in the virtualization category at Microsoft TechEd, and this year’s added distinction of being selected as Best of TechEd 2010 Attendees’ Pick by the conference attendees is a significant honor for our team,” said Timothy Stephan, senior director, product marketing, VMware.
