Based on the blockbuster sci-fi flick Aliens, this is a first-person shooter video game that comes on an advanced third generation Red Ring game engine.
Developed by the famous Gearbox Software studio, Aliens: Colonial Marines is an action game with elements of suspense and surprises. Interestingly based on the movie released in 1986 that was a sequel to 1979’s Alien, the game gives you a chance to relive the entire adventure. The game would be available by the coming spring for all major gaming consoles.
Play as four different Colonial Marine soldiers and fight the Alien Queen and the cluster of her strange hoodlums. The game offers you different weapons for your assault — flamethrower, pistol, smartgun, pulse rifle, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), etc. You would encounter various types of alien characters, each of which would have a different style of attack. For example, Facehuggers would try to kill you by implanting an embryo on your face. Runners would sprint and spy on you. Then there are Drones and Warriors. The Quick Time Events feature would let you indulge in one-on-one fight. You would take the role of one marine at one time. The multiplayer mode offers up to two players and a split screen view. In the Online Multiplayer mode up to four participants can play the game.
“To Gearbox Software and its peers throughout the industry, Aliens is one of the most influential science fiction properties of all time. Aliens: Colonial Marines, designed as an interactive successor to the landmark films from Twentieth Century Fox, is a dream project about which our studio is deeply committed and passionate,” said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software.
