Unquestionably, the functionality is dynamic in nature and one can easily play with the built-in apps using a wireless remote control. So, your television is no more an idiot box. LG Planning 3D Technology without Glasses

LG is planning to unveil a Smartphone with 3D viewing and recording capability. And an added benefit of viewing 3D videos without the bulky glasses. Named as Optimus 3D it is planned to unveil at Mobile World Congress at Barcelona this year. The phone touted to be the most advanced and running on innovation will feature a dual-lens camera for 3D recording and a LCD screen for displaying the visual content. It comes with a 4.3 inch LCD with 800×480 resolutions. Parallax barriers are used as a series of light-blocking slits attached to the front of the LCD panel according to LG to help differentiate between the left and right image without requiring special 3D viewing glasses which gives us the perception of depth. It comes with HDMI and DLNA connectivity options to connect with a visual display or another media device for a rich media experience. It is rumored to run on NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor to power its 1080p HD video playback and recording.with a 8 megapixel camera with flash a front camera for video calling. The high resolution screen display is guaranteed to ensure an ultimate gaming and video experience. 3D enabled visual experience in a handheld device is not a new experience, Nintendo 3DS already has made an entry in this market. It also boasts of glasses free 3D experience. However the 3D effect can only be seen if you are staring at the screen from the front end, tilting negates the 3d effect. However the 3D effect is so mind-blowing that you would forgive Nintendo for this. It is not “characters coming out of the screen” 3D but depth 3D, and all this without the cumbersome 3D glasses.

LG’s press release states that the LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue – one of the biggest challenges facing the 3D market – with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device. They continued, stating that LG’s most advanced Smartphone to date would be featuring a dual-lens camera for 3D recording, a glasses-free LCD panel for 3D viewing and diverse connectivity options such as HDMI and DLNA for 3D content sharing anytime, anywhere.

The market trends are currently moving towards 3D with gaming Smartphones and televisions all moving towards this future. Sooner or later more and more companies will embrace 3D. LG has made the first steps towards this in cell phones. This was a future only imagined and now LG has brought it to our hands. Shape and form has been given to one of our fantasies. LG will have to be careful though that only 3D will not make its phone sell, it should have complimenting power packed features like a high processing power and a good battery life to make it against the huge array of Smartphones lined up for a release. This 14th of February in Barcelona at the Mobile World congress be prepared to be bedazzled.
