Adobe® launches Flash Player 11.2 and AIR 3.2

To bring advanced 3D gaming to web browsers and mobile handsets, Adobe has announced the release of Flash Player 11.2 and AIR 3.2. The launch of Flash Player 11.2 will enable Adobe to bring support for mouse click, right and middle click events, and multi-threaded video decoding.

In addition to this, the Flash Player 11.2 will support 2D and 3D graphics at a speed of up to 60 frames per second. Secondly, while working on Windows-based computer systems, the software will automatically update itself in the background.

The version 3.2 of AIR will now support Stage3D graphics on both iOS and Android platforms. A new deal with Unity will allow games developers to easily upload 3D games to Flash Player, as part of its premium features package. The game developers can use these features for free until their apps generate US $50,000 in revenue. Once they cross the US $50,000 mark, they will have to pay 9% of their earnings to Adobe. As of now, AIR 3.2 apps are exempt from this charge.

Adobe® Photoshop CS6 beta is readily available for download

Adobe finally gets into the act of releasing an upgraded version for its Photoshop application.

Adobe is almost done with the development of its upcoming variant of photo editing application. Adobe Photoshop CS6 beta software is now available on the Internet for download. Adobe had already told its customers that the full program will come in the end of second quarter 2012. Nevertheless, the beta application can benefit the users as well as Adobe in obtaining regular feedbacks. Winston Hendrickson, Vice President of Engineering at Adobe said, “Photoshop CS6 will be a milestone release that pushes the boundaries of imaging innovation with incredible speed and performance.” Moreover, it will offer 62% of fresh features as compared with earlier editions.

The developers have tried reducing the loading time by integrating an improved graphics engine named Mercury. This core engine would amplify the memory resources of your machine in order that you can easily carry out the high-quality jobs like cropping and warping. In contrast, the entire interface has received an elegant color. While launching the program for the first time, you will see a dark-color shade in the backdrop of its main window. Besides, the most predominant feature is its content-aware patch that offers a random sample to design custom photos. In case, you have messed up with your image then Adobe Photoshop CS 6 will automatically correct the photos. Although there are few more exciting insights about the latest program, you can get to know about them by downloading it on your computer. In that case, you would require an Adobe ID which can be created on Adobe’s website.

Google™ Chrome Update Enhances Speed

An Internet browser plays a very important role in performing daily computing tasks. Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers. Google Chrome is fast, reliable and very easy to use. It was launched as a beta version for the Microsoft Windows operating system on 2nd September 2008, and the browser was made available to the users on 11th December 2008. Now, the latest version of Google Chrome is version 10, which is now easily available to the users through the Internet.

The previous versions of Chrome were not capable of providing good speed. But now, this new version of Google Chrome enhances the speed with a 66 percent enhancement in JavaScript performance via its V8 benchmark. This will help in running web applications faster in the browser. It will also help you to do better search as now it is the fastest web browser than any other browser.

It has also extended its sandboxing technology to the inbuilt Flash Player. The sandbox isolates the running code from the rest of the operating system so that it has no right to use the critical processes or data, and prevents it from either deliberately or non deliberately doing any harm to the programs or the system. Google Chrome already uses sandboxing for HTML rendering and JavaScript execution. Adobe and Google has the integrated Flash Player plug-in, so now you do not need to download any other Flash Player plug-in. The first step after opening the browser is the update which adds a new interface to the Google Chrome and creates a tab rather than a pop-up menu. There would be a search box on the interface that will provide results as you type and provide direct links for future reference, which a user can use with ease.

These new features that have been included in this new version of Google Chrome are very useful and would definitely make a user feel more comfortable while browsing and don’t have to search continuously to find a way to import the settings, bookmarks or to change or remove the browser’s home page

Now a user also has the option of syncing their passwords from one computer to another. Users often want a better security feature, so for a better security reason, there is an option to encrypt the passwords with your own secret pass phrase. To enable this feature, navigate to the “Personal Stuff” section in Google Chrome’s settings options (or just type ‘sync’ in the settings search box). Syncing also applies to bookmarks, extensions, preferences, themes, and more. Hence it is one of the most trustworthy browsers which a user can use for surfing the Internet.

How to Create PDF files in Microsoft® Word

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. This is the most widely used document format from Adobe which has gained immense popularity because of its features. Any kind of information, be it text, image, tables, charts, hyperlinks, etc can all be consolidated into one single document and sent across. PDF also works seamlessly on web pages and viewers for PDF files are free of cost. You can download Adobe Reader to read the PDF files. It is not only portability but also the security measures which have made PDFs a great success. Every PDF file can be password protected and the hash used in its password is quite extreme and cannot be broken if a strong password is used. PDF has become an amazing platform for sending across the information without even thinking of the version of reader the recipient would have. There are any issues in sending documents created by other applications like Microsoft Word etc, because if you create a document in Word 2007 and send it to someone then the recipient must also have version 2007 or later in order to open and read the file. This often lead into resending of the files in proper formats and delay the work.

In this post I will discuss a way to save any document as a PDF file using Microsoft Word.

Step 1: create your document and insert whatever you wish to add. You can add text, pictures, tables, charts, hyperlinks, you can have multiple colours and whatever you want and save the file as a word file (DOC). Saving it as DOC would be wise because this will work as the original file which you can anytime modify.

Step 2: Keeping this file open click on ‘File’ and then on ‘Save As’.

Step 3: When the ‘Save As’ box appears click on the ‘Save As Type’ drop down and then select ‘PDF’ from the menu. Once you select PDF as the ‘Save As’ type you will get further options in that window.

Step 4: Make appropriate choices for your PDF file by clicking on the options button. These options are standard features of any PDF file and will decide the way the file views on other computer if that doesn’t have proper fonts etc.

Step 5: Click on ‘Save’ and that would be all. This way you can save your Word Document as a PDF document.

Steps given above were strictly only for Microsoft Word and if you want even other programs to be able to create PDF files then you would need to install PDF printers. PDF printer is a small application which installs a logical printer on your machine and you can select to print on it for creating PDF files. One of the best software for the same is CutePdf Writer.

Adobe to introduce new Flash Player: Square

Adobe recently has released a trial version of Flash Player plug-in that will enable Flash to be in par with new technologies emerging in the web domain. In past year web browsers have released 64-bit designs.  With the initial release of the 64 bit version, Adobe seeks to provide greater support to Internet Explorer 9 beta.

The new Flash version is called “Square” which is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. Users can download the beta release from Adobe labs, however one will have to manually update the software.

The release of the beta version comes in lieu of the current trends in the web browsing experience. With the increase in multimedia applications and web technologies like HTML 5, it becomes imperative for Adobe to adapt flash to new web browsing technologies.

As the IT industry is transitioning towards 64-bit computing, various technologies from processors to multimedia applications are taking advantage of the transition. The major advantage for these entities is that 64 bit computing significantly enhances the speed of searching and processing data on a computer. When it comes to applications and web browsers, they can take advantage of the 64 bit computing experience, by providing renewed acceleration in streaming videos and interacting with multimedia applications.

Flash Player “Square” leverages the new GPU support available with Internet Explorer 9 Beta to deliver a faster and more responsive user experience with Flash-based content. As a result users can expect greater web browsing speeds, to handle multimedia components in a web page.
