How to Select the Advanced Recovery Method to Get Back Your Damaged PC

The control panel contains an option for recovery of your PC after it has suffered severe damage. It can be done by selecting the advanced methods sub-options under the option of recovery.

One of the ways is by advanced recovery is to use the backup of system image, in case you have created one earlier. And the second way is to reinstall the entire OS by recovery image or by installation files or CD. The recovery image is provided by the computer manufacturer while buying your PC.

While doing the recovery there is a high risk of losing your personal data present in the PC. So before starting the recovery take all the data into USB or burn it into CDs. After the completion of recovery you can use them to reinstall the previous programs and your personal info data.

To reach to the Advanced Recover Methods options go into the start menu and click on the control panel option given in it. Search for recovery in the search engine given and click on the option Recovery when it gives one. Once into recovery option you’ll get Advanced Recovery Methods as the sub-options.

We will now understanding the ways of recovery. For restoring your PC from an image the most necessary condition is for you to have created the image earlier. A system image is nothing but a backup of the partition that contains the windows OS. It includes all sorts of objects like programs, images, sound clips, files, and other user related things. It is a more convenient option if you have a system image ready as it contains all your personal info the way you want it. So only those files created after the image was made have to be reinstalled. One of the drawbacks of system image is that it creates an image of everything. So if the problem is there during the image formation, which caused the Windows to be damaged, then it copies that too.

If you haven’t created the system image file or want to reinstall all your old programs then you have to select one of the two methods given below. These old settings are known as factory settings.

By selecting the option for returning to the factory you will lose everything ever installed by you on your PC and it will replace it by original settings provided by the manufacturer. It recovers everything from the recovery image which contains the OS and programs that were previously installed on your PC. All your personal files and documents have to be restored. Also any additional programs that were installed by you have to be installed again.

The other option is to completely reinstall the Windows OS on your PC. Here also you’ll need to restore all your files and programs. While reinstall the new OS windows creates a folder named Windows.old folder. It is created in the hard disk. It will contain all the old program files for installation if they aren’t encrypted. So taking a backup before recovering will be a wise option.
