Source code for Google™ Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is now available

The search engine giant, Google, has officially released the source code for the much-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system. The source code has been announced as a part of the Android Open Source Project.

This means all the manufacturers can now recompile the code for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean compatible devices. The public availability of the source code also allows app developers to start testing their updated code to conveniently work on Android 4.1-based devices.

This latest Android operating system was first released on Nexus 7, which was made in partnership between Google and AsusASUS. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes equipped with a number for of improved features, including Google Now, superior user interface thanks to Project Butter, and a Siri-style voice assistant app.

P.S: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean source code currently has only been announced for Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Google Nexus 7. Source code for Google Nexus S and Motorola Xoom will be released soon.

Android has also upgraded a few new features for its users’ benefits and all of them are successfully accepted by the users. Now Google is all set to launch its 3.0 version, the Honeycomb, which is optimized to work on tablets and other devices.
