Facebook Apps caught red handed passing user information

In a recent report by Wall Street Journal, apps on Facebook are using personal details of users for advertising advantages.  The new report suggests that Facebook does not have a security parameter which checks on apps such as Farmville, Mafia Wars that utilize personal information of users.

Facebook will be releasing new security technology to deal with the flaw. However it is not certain until when the problem will be fixed, as implementing such technology often takes rigorous testing in the real-time environment.

According to the report apps were passing on user ID numbers, which in some consequences does not actually mean to pass on the personal details of users. The ID number is an alpha-numeric number which is generated according to the user account. However the ID does not contain any personal information. Despite the fact, according to the Facebook privacy norms exchange of Facebook user information is deemed illegal.

Farmville Latest Updates

If you are a lover of Farmville, then you perhaps might be aware that the ever exciting game keeps releasing new items into play and it is for that reason that I felt I should bring up to speed with the latest happenings over there. Given the fact that new items are popping up every day and the competition hots up for the purchase of the items, the exciting game has truly mastered the art of having fans like me glued to our computers.

Three New Limited Edition Decorations

Top amongst the latest updates from Farmville is the release of the three new Limited Edition New England themed decorations that are both lovely and wonderful to say the least. Of the three, there is the Coastal Beach, Nelly Moser and the Trawler Gnome and all of them can be gotten from the Farmville market. The three will be available in the market for the coming eleven days and if you want a piece of the action, make your purchase soon. However, you can only purchase Coastal Beach and Trawler Gnome using FV Cash whereas the other decoration, Nelly Moser can be purchased using coins. The choice is yours but one thing stands out, the new arrivals are already generating massive attention given the feedback they have gotten from their presence in the market place.

New Themed Buildings

Other than the three decorations, there are as well two new Limited Edition New England Themed buildings that are causing ripples in Farmville. The two new arrivals include the Antique Shop and a Crab Shack, both of which are retailing at reasonable prices in the Farmville market. The two themed buildings can be bought as follows; for the Antique Shop goes for 40 FV Cash whereas the Crab Shack retails at 350,000 coins. I visited the market and the two themed buildings are already selling like hot cakes, with tough buyers going against each other for a piece of the two.

Puffin Amongst Others!

Other updates from Farmville include the recent release of the latest Limited Edition England Themed animal called the Puffin. You can check Puffin out in the Farmville market and buy it for 14 FV Cash. But like the new decorations, Puffin will only be available in the Farmville market for the coming eleven days so you can grab it sooner if you do not want to miss out. In addition to that, Farmville has also introduced its most recent collection that entirely celebrates the New England Coast. Simply visit the Crab Shack I had mentioned earlier, enjoy the Coastal beach or even grow Hollyhocks amongst a host of many other updates. If you are a true Farmville lover, there is reason you should miss out on the release of the latest collection of updates from the New England collection.

Head over to the game and experience the happiness that the new collection promises, I did try some of them out and I must admit I loved them. The Mystery Game has never gotten better and the new updates promise to take it a notch higher.

Farmville Now on iPhone

The main focus here is the popular Facebook game Farmville. And now it has been launched as an application for iPhone’s and ipad’s, its popularity is again increasing exponentially. The game is based on virtual farming and has a very dedicated players list.

It has finally happened and the plight of many users has finally been answered.  The popular game on Facebook, FarmVille has finally been added as an open platform application on the newly launched iPhone 4. This development has created a lot of frenzy on the blogosphere and many users who are addicted to FarmVille and Facebook have welcomed with development with open arms.

FarmVille was launched in June 2009 as one of the third party application games for the users of Facebook and it was quickly able to garner a large fan base because of its ingenious idea.  Its popularity was so unprecedented that people were taken aback when it reached to ten million users after just two months of its launch. By the time of April 2010, there were 85 million users accessing this application and as a result it has now become the most popular game on Facebook.

The objective of the game is very simple. You are provided with a small land and some grains to start after that you have to plans things and grow a successful harvest so that you can sell them to make the virtual FarmVille money, which is given in coins. As much as you grow and sell, you climb levels and there are more options available for you to exercise. Like you can make FarmVille neighbors then work in their farms to make more coins. Also you can welcome your friends with gifts so that they can start their farms on the better note.

The concept itself was very simple but I think what caught the public’s eye was the idea of farming itself. Since most of us have never actually seen a village hence the notion of actually living that experience was what brought people to this game.

With the launch of FarmVille on iPhone 4, the biggest problem of a fully functional computer to access this game has been eradicated. The requirement for accessing FarmVille is also very minimal. All you need is a workable Facebook account and then you can start your adventures with your phone. The only glitch here is that the screen size is very small hence there is a lot of scrolling to do but that should not be the deal breaker for the dedicated FarmVille fans.

The arrival of mobile FarmVille should be a breather to Zyanga as it has been losing millions of dedicated members every month because of the changes in Facebook. In April Zyanga mentioned a 15 million loss of user, it seems the trigger happened when Facebook stopped the third party notifications and users were not able to play the game properly.
