With all eyes on the winners, most were surprised to find not Apple as the winner. Apple had won an award in every field. The winners of the top creation of tablets went to Motorola for the mobile tablet called Xoom. The main reason for Motorola winning is due to the operating system used. They used the software from Google called Honeycomb. This software is specially made for tablet users and is the best that can be found.

It threatens the well known tablet from Apple’s iPad and after Xoom was named the best tablet of the year the threat continues to grow. Xoom’s screen size is 10.1 inches. It is the same size as the iPad and is due for release in 4 months. Targeting the internet and computer fields, Motorola will be focusing on the next generation computer solutions. This will be towards various enterprises and governments.

The smart phone Atrix was a winner at the CES and Motorola emerged a winner with the docking solution of the Atrix. The Atrix took the award for the best smart phone this year. This makes Motorola the undisputed winner of the event.

This is the first tablet to use the android software of Google’s software. At 1280×800, the Motorola Xoom has a superior resolution to the iPad, with the device supporting 1080p playback onto an external monitor through the use of an HDMI output. The Xoom sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of shooting 720p HD video, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.Under the hood, the Motorola tablet PC is a beast. Processing is performed by a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and RAM totals 1GB. It’s also got rock solid battery life, with Motorola saying it’s capable of 10 hours of uninterrupted video playback.

From a technical, hardware-related perspective, the Motorola Xoom clicks in well with all the right answers. However, it is well known that, with tablet PCs, hardware, which is fast becoming standardized, is less important than software. And here, based on the limited demo Motorola showed and Google’s Android 3.0 video demos doing the rounds, this mobile OS may be up to the task. Undisputed winners were Motorola who have excelled in all categories.

With Apple and many others in the race, Motorola emerged the winner easily. A report from DigiTimes says that Motorola Mobility foresees to ship as many as 800,000 units within the first quarter of the year. As the Xoom is not even available yet, and is due to be released on a given date yet, it seems the Android 3.0 tablet PC is definitely going to burst out the doorway when going on sale. It is expected to take the market by storm. More fireworks are expected when the actual sales are expected to be made. So, let’s wait and see how well they sell at Motorola.
