Nintendo 3DS to be launched with 18 games

If you are preparing to purchase the Nintendo 3DS gaming console, you will have 18 games to opt from for your starter collection. But this time they are going to cost a bit more than the regular DS titles. Nintendo has also shown its launch day products for the handheld gaming system as well as revealed the price to be $40, which is just $5 more than titles for the DS platform.

Nintendo has recently revealed a new line of products in the handheld gaming system with the price tag of $40. The 3DS will not begin with characters like Mario or Zelda, but outdoor publishing partners will have familiar names, including Super Street Fighter, The Sims, Star Wars, Rayman, and Madden. The system will also come with built-in titles Face Raiders, and AR Games.

Nintendo itself will add nintendogs + cats; it is nothing but a sequel to its admired pet simulator, along with submarine simulator Steel Diver and Pilotwings Resort. It seems that the company is protecting its main products for a little later in the year when there are more 3DS systems in people’s hands and the holidays are depicting near.

They are also planning to increase the overall number of games available for the 3DS from 18 to more than 30 by mid-June. To enhance demand for the system, the company is also setting up a widespread promotional campaign, with over 5,000 units in stores and people representing mobile units on the streets of major cities.

We were not expecting the $5 premium for titles and it could still make things challenging for the company. Nintendo has already owned the handheld gaming space since pretty older times, it faces radically augmented competition from Apple these days, as players have flocked to the iOS devices, where game prices almost never crossed $10.

If you have already planned to buy one then here we are providing the titles that will help to assemble your shopping list: Pilotwings Resort (Nintendo), Steel Diver (Nintendo), nintendogs + cats (Nintendo), Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom), The Sims 3 (EA), Madden NFL Football (EA), Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami), LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts), Ridge Racer 3D (Namco Bandai), Super Monkey Ball 3D (Sega), Bust-a-Move Universe (Square-Enix), Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei America), Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft), Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft), Rayman 3D (Ubisoft) and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft).

Next generation games may cost $100

Despite denials from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, it is generally accepted that the three gaming giants are already working to replace their gaming console PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

According to Danny Bilson, manager of THQ, if the machines were forced out over the next three years, the gaming consoles would be very expensive. Danny Bilson has issued a statement in which he has raised the alarm for all gaming lovers that the advent of the new generation of consoles could give rise to a disaster scenario (means quite expensive).

All this is possible because the development teams of PlayStation 4, Xbox 720 and Wii 2 could be forced to increase investment and work on each title. This could lead to a result in soaring prices for each title and it would cost around $100. Bilson is convinced that the new generation of consoles which will hopefully release in coming three years, laying the foundation for a very manageable situation. Even if it currently costs a lot to the software house to develop a single title, the advent of gaming machines may lead to production costs rise exponentially. The result will necessarily be more expensive, the final cost of the product, which according to Bilson could rise to $100 per copy.

This figure is as impossible for almost all budgets and the manufacturers themselves seem to be aware of this potential situation. As stated by Bilson, if Microsoft and Sony will decide to start over from scratch, developers will find difficulties with the new situation. It will allocate budget even higher for new projects which, in fact, require a more complex development. What is certain is that $100 for a game seems like impossible figure and the manufacturers are aware of this, according to Bilson, the best thing is to maintain a stable technology, so you can concentrate on the content to be carried out.

Already several programmers had difficulty adapting to the current generation of console hardware, and therefore the situation could be complicated if the estimates for all three years for the arrival of Xbox 720 or PlayStation 4 would prove true.

Sony® to Launch Networked Portable Game Player, Smartphones

A revamped and updated PlayStation handheld gaming device will be unveiled by Sony followed by a smartphone with gaming capability. Sony is planning to use its networked entertainment services to share data, media and games among handheld devices, TVs and other media enriched platforms. Sony will unveil the new portable player and a Sony Ericsson Touch enabled smartphone. The company seems to be ready to make a comeback and give its competitors something to worry about. Sony also realizes this market is dominated by Nintendo and Apple and so will have to be very careful about playing its cards.

The portable entertainment system dubbed as the successor to PSP is said to deliver ultimate portable media experience. According to Sony’s press release regarding this product NGP (code name for the yet to be titled product) is designed to propose supreme interactive entertainment that would only be possible on a PlayStation. This innovative design would present a innovative blend of rich gaming and social connectivity inside a real world situation, made promising by leveraging SCE’s experience from both PSP (PlayStation Portable) and PlayStation 3 (PS3) entertainment systems.

With both Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity, jointly with a mixture of applications, NGP will facilitate endless potential for users to connect and share with friends wherever they are. Within the device are a range of features that provide a genuinely cutting-edge, next generation ultimate portable entertainment experience. It features a mindboggling 5 inch organic light emitting display (OLED) and an innovative user interface combined with a high performance CPU and GPU to give a never seen before visual experience.

This is going to be one of the most awaited release of this year. Judging by the products Sony has put in the market recently, this release will be an event with much fanfare. Let’s hope it has a better luck than the PSP and can rival Nintendo’s 3D gaming portable player. The NGP has stiff competition decked out for it and it will be a fight that gamers will relish.

Nintendo 3DS to release in March 27

Nintendo started its entry into the gaming market with the release of Nintendo’s Famicom, it later carved a niche for itself with the worldwide acclaimed Super Mario Bros. Some of its famed products are the Gameboy, The Gameboy advance, Wii etc. The company which fuelled many a gamers appetite and whose products are on many a teens wishlist has made a comeback in the industry with the Nintendo 3DS.

“Nintendo 3DS is a category of one – the experience simply doesn’t exist anywhere else,” said Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime. “You have to see Nintendo 3DS to believe it. And it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”

Indeed a device that has intrigued gamers since its prototype launch last year finally comes to your hands for a price salted to be 249$. A price almost half of the iPad. It measure 5.3 by 2.9 by 0.8 inches and weighs about 230 grams. The Nintendo 3DS is somewhat like the Nintendo DS with 2 screens one a touchscreen, The top screen is the main Display screen and according to the press release: “The top screen displays 3D visuals to the naked eye. Looking at the screen is like peering through a window into a world where characters and objects have true depth. The system also has a 3D Depth Slider that lets players select the level of 3D they enjoy the most. The 3D effect can be ratcheted up to the highest level, scaled back to a more moderate setting or even turned off completely, depending on the preference of the user.”

However the 3D effect can only be seen if you are staring at the screen from the front end, tilting negates the 3d effect. However the 3D effect is so mindblowing that you would forgive Nintendo for this. It is not “characters coming out of the screen” 3D but depth 3D, and all this without the cumbersome 3D glasses. It has also been fitted with a gyroscope for motion sensing games. Its also equipped with a revolutionary StreetPass feature which would let end users exchange game information with other gamers on the Nintendo 3DS system and a SpotPass feature which would let the user connect using wifi when within  range. It comes with a slider control that will allow user to adjust the depth of the image according to their comfort. Also Nintendo claims that children under the age of 6 might suffer adverse effect due to elongated exposure to 3D. It is also loaded with two 0.3 megapixel cameras that allow you to take 3D pictures viewable on its display. It has a 4 way pad and an analog control pad. It is being launched In the US with many titles like Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Pro Evolution Soccer 3D, Madden Football, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Asphalt 3D
