Microsoft Windows Vista Antivirus is a very destructive virus program and is sometime also represented as Windows Antivirus.

It also asks users to pay some price for downloading which goes into the hackers account. It specifically asks users to perform a scan on computer. Once the scan is completed it shows a list of spyware and malicious programs on your computer, which is a false alarm. This is the time when it asks user to pay and most of the users falls in the trap.
You will also get fake pop-up alerts from Vista Antivirus 2008 on an infected computer. These fake alerts prompts user to purchase the software in order to stop the attack. To remove Vista Antivirus software on a computer follows these steps.
First of all click the Windows Start button and then select Programs. Now scroll up and select Accessories then select System tools. After that click System restore to open the System Restore wizard then click Create store point and then click Next and type in a name for the restore point and click Create then it will backup your computer System. When you will use a restore point you can come back in case you delete vital system tools.
Now press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Windows Vista Task Manager then click the processes tab to show the currently running processes on your system. Now locate the Vista antivirus and select it, after selecting it click end process. It will kill the Vista antivirus process.
You can now click the Windows Start button and then click Start Search and type regedit and press Enter to open the registry window.
After that press F3 to open the search window and then Search for and delete these registry entries: hkey_current_user\software\antivirus, hkey_local_machine\software\antivirus, hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversio\r=’%programfiles%antivirus2009\antvrs.exe, after deleting these entire files just exit the registry.
You can now click the Windows Start button and then click Start Search type CMD and press Enter to open the command prompt, now you have to unregister the .dll files, to do that type regsvr32 /u+dll file and the press Enter, after that a message will popup saying that the dll file has been unregistered.
Now delete and uninstall all the remaining files related to the Vista antivirus. Restart the computer to complete the process.
