Here are some useful steps you can follow in order to get traffic to blog.

Step1:

One of the best methods by which you can promote your website to turn Your Blog postings into articles. Write articles, make them unique by adding headings, changing the title and elongating them and then submit them to websites that serve as article directories. Make sure to include a link back to your blog in every article that you post. This way you will create more one-way incoming links to your blog.

Step2:

Another way of advertising and marketing your blog is to create a buzz around your blog. For this you can create some news around your blog or around the topic of your blog, you can distribute merchandise featuring the URL and the tagline for your blog or you can write out a press release on something newsworthy, tying it in with the topic of your blog- whatever. The idea is to make people notice you.

Step3:

Make subscribers via email. Most people opt for email to receive information and news, so reaching out to potential readers by way of e-mail is still a top method for marketing. You can use a free web service such as Bloglet to manage your subscriptions.

Step4: You should create solid inbound links using related websites. The Related Websites plug-in effectively multiply the traffic of your blog by utilizing the traffic and resources of other blog. The full features of the plug-in are available only to the member sites which must be approved before they are able to receive a key. After that the sites can enjoy quality traffic and build quality inbound links.

Step5: Add your blog to blog search engine by creating a good, concise description for your blog, as well as relevant keywords since search engine spiders use links to navigate the web and index the websites that they find. If you make it easier for the search engines to find you, you will get blog traffic through search engine results pages more easily.

Step6: Participate in online conversations elsewhere on the internet as this is a quick, easy and interactive way to get blog traffic when you are looking for more visitors to your website.

Step7: Keep posting contents. Blog readers love content and are constantly in search for fresh and new information and content and if you continue to provide it, they will continue to return time and time again to read it. If you are not providing content to your readers, they have no reason to return to you! So keep blogging.

How to Calculate blog traffic

If you are a blog writer then you know the importance of blog traffic. The revenue from a blog is dependent  on the blog traffic i.e. the number of readers visiting the blog site. Therefore it is essential for you calculate the blog traffic according to the amount of revenue that you would like to generate. Google is the only search engine that provides you a blog rate and also it calculates the popularity and visibility of blogs. Follow the steps given below to calculate the blog traffic.

Step 1:

You can calculate blog traffic through “BackLinks,” which is measured by the number of visitors or readers linking to the blog. The backlinks happen when they visit the blog site or read the blog; it will create more traffic and make a big impact on the popularity of blogs.

Step 2:

You can also calculate blog traffic by counting the number of pages. The number of pages refers to the number of articles published on the website or the number of posted articles. Number of pages is fully based on the content of the blog, so, you will have to post or create as much articles you can.

Step 3:

Last but not the least is the page rank of the blog. A page rank is determined by the number of links, if you have 100 links then you are on rank 3 and you need 10000 links to reach rank 5. The ranking of a page is numbered 1 to 10. So you can see that the number 1 is weakest and the number 10 is stronger.

Step 4:

We also recommend you to install Alexa tool bar on the system to know the blog traffic. It shows the popularity of the website with some fluctuating graphics. As Google is ranked number 1 and Wikipedia is ranked number 7 among the websites in world. But the problem with Alexa toolbar is that it can not be installed in Windows 7 and Vista so you can use Webandrank; it is also same as previous and very easy to use. You can also calculate the blog traffic by calculating the number of RSS feeds or subscribers you have. We also recommend you to use Quantcast tool to calculate the blog traffic, the main feature of the tool is that it shows the statistics of entire websites available not just your own website. You can calculate the traffic and also calculate the blog traffic. So these are the methods we know till now and what we got from internet, these are really helpful in calculation of blog traffic.
