The new ThinkPad X series will be available from the month of April. This ThinkPad X series has the new X220 model. This model is known to be an improvement of its previously launched IdeaPad series. It has a long battery life, which is a much talked about topic in recent times. The battery of normal 9 cells gives a backup of 15 hours which can be extended to 24 hours by a 19 cell battery. The X220 has a USB port of 3.0 which enables file download at an extremely high speed which is almost 10 times the usual speed that USB port 2.0 provides. It has a 12.5 inch screen and is very portable. The other great feature is that it has a inbuilt 3G. It has a powerful CPU for faster processing.
The idea of the external battery of 19 cells is also causing a lot of excitement. If the ThinkPad X220 is switched on with a low multimedia mode the battery life increases to 30 %. The ThinkPad X220 has Intel’s turbo boost feature built in the system. With the help of this feature the system can perform well and the battery life can also be increased. All the user has to do is switch on the turbo boost mode of Intel.
Though the battery life is exciting its users the most, Lenovo has many other features to boast about in its newly launched ThinkPad X series. The other powerful specs include Intel’s new and latest Sandy Bridge Second Generation architecture processors. With the help of Sandy Bridge Second Generation architecture Lenovo provides i7, i5, or i3 processors. The screen is high definition with LED backlit display. The resolution provided by ThinkPad X220 is huge with the exact figures being 1366 x 768. It has a feature of in-plane switching which enables a better picture quality and a better view at wider angels.
Lenovo proudly announced that this ThinkPad X220 is ultraportable because it weighs less than 3 pounds.
