The lucky owners of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 must have heard that the smartphone is available for an update of the Android version 1.6 to 2.1! Yes! The long awaited update OTA Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, X10 Xperia Mini and Mini Xperia X10 Pro in Android 2.1 Flash will start this week, announced yesterday by a new manufacturer.

Program, a new home screen consolidated with five home screens, HD video capture continuous autofocus, a new backup application, Social Phonebook automatically sync photos from Facebook contacts and see who is online and new widgets for the Xperia X10.

Sony Ericsson promises an improved version with Bluetooth support including sending photos, the automatic synchronization of contacts Facebook , a new application of backup and recovery, better integration images and audio files to posts.

The website Top10 .com informs that this Sony Ericsson has commenced an Android update this week in Japan that stipulates multi-touch for the Xperia X10 range, beforehand of its scheduled 1st quarter roll out in the UK.Where as the website Nexus informs that Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android  is capable of multi-touch, which was earlier demonstrated by an hack . Sony Ericsson declared an official pinch-and-zoom support, and Android updates will start hitting the handset from this week onwards.The multi touch support update will at initial stages introduces in the Japanese market, ith NTT DoCoMo. the company which will get first dibs at the Android upgrade.

For users it’s important to inform that multi-touch input will only be able to support two finger pinch-and-zoom. The functionality will not support other movements like rotate or the multi-finger input. Additionally, the company, Sony Ericsson also clearly informed that it will not be upgrading the X10 to Android 2.2 FroYo. Sony Ericsson representative in the UK believes that their customized Android 2.1 installation is at similar with a default 2.2.

The famous tech site Engadget also informed that Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android multi-touch update starts. On the other hand Bina4y from xda-developers forum has released a patch which will be helpful in adding dual touch support to any ROM for the Xperia X10.

This Hotfix  needs to use flash tools and the installation method is quite simple but people who love to mingle with  gadgets can give a try but for those who have less technical knowledge are recommended to wait  for the official release.
