Scholastic Inc., a well-known U.S. publisher of children’s book, has now entered in the world of e-reading by developing an app dubbed as Storia. The app is presently in the beta test and includes about 1,300 e-books and multimedia books that can be easily purchased from the publisher or the retailer.

The most amazing aspect about Storia is that it can provide enriched e-books that feature pronunciation tools, audio narration, vocabulary activities, story interactions, virtual book shelf, and even phonics. As parents, you can check your kid’s reading progress; show them how many minutes they have spent on reading a page and novel words they have learned.
Scholastic Media president, Deborah Forte said, “The idea is to make e-books “more accessible and more relevant.” Forte also said Scholastic sees the app “as a way to support reading and something that’s just plain fun.”

Storia is anticipated to be officially released in the coming fall with near about 2000 titles and exclusive stories like Clifford the Big Red Dog and Ready, Freddy!
