After creating the Kinect for Xbox 360, PrimeSense has announced a new motion sensing controller developed for PC. PrimeSense along with ASUS has come up with the new device for PC. They are also focusing on creating an online store for selling the applications that are compatible with the new motion sensing controller.
Named as “WAVI Xtion”, the new motion sensing controller will enable the gesture controls for media center PC’s. PrimeSense has said that this time their focus was on the multimedia control unlike the gaming focus technique that was used while developing the Kinect controller for Xbox.
It is expected that “WAVI Xtion” will redefine the gaming experience for PC gamers. Like Xbox and PS3, you will need a spacious room to play games with “WAVI Xtion”. As the device is a motion sensing controller, you can play games like tennis and golf with the gestures.
Also there is news that ASUS is planning to create an “Xtion Online Store,” where developers can create different applications for the WAVI Xtion and people can purchase them online.
There was clear-cut demand for this type of controller that can be connected with a PC to play games with motion gestures. We all know that there are a number of people who might already be using their Kinect controller for playing the PC games.
At present, the WAVI Xtion is scheduled for release in February. However, the main issue that can spoil the fun will be the compatibility of the WAVI Xtion with the operating system. The WAVI Xtion will be revealed at ASUS and PrimeSense booth at the CES.
