There are rumors floating in the market that Apple is in touch with some Taiwanese component manufactures of A8 SoC marketing maybe for the 5th Generation iPhone and other Apple devices. However, the A8 application processor details are still not known. There is also speculation that the A8 SoC chip would be a multi-core processor, along with Power VR SGX 543 graphics included on the same silicon. As of now, none of these details are confirmed and let us thereby call it speculation.

Even the CES 2011 surprised the market with non-presence of Apple with a new product. The tablet wars are on and it is believed by industry watchers that eventually it will be a battle between Google and Apple for dominance in the tablet space. The sale of over 7.5 million iPads successfully by Apple has spurred the market competition. Apple has proven to be the major player in innovative consumer electronics industry growth. Their products have been trendy, innovative and functional and all their gadgets have been and continue to be big hits.

Starting early 2006, Apple was all abuzz with touch screens and laptops and something new and innovative. Come December, 2006, Apple tied up with AT&T for the iPhone, a prototype of which was ready and all eyes were focused on one of the best devices ever seen. June 29th, 2007, the iPhone went on sale, bringing the figures to over seven and a half million today. This brought about a phenomenal change in wireless carrier behavior in respect of product and perspective. Today there are four generations of iPhone models from a GSM phone to the addition of the 3G network capability, GPS, a compass, faster processor and higher resolution cameras including video to the iPhone 4 which has 2 cameras with FaceTime video calling and a still higher resolution display. January 2001 saw Apple launching the CDMA 2000 compatible iPhone4 in the US. The touch screen feature, scratch resistant glass, capacitive Stylii and many such features changed the way people could use Wi-Fi networks and access of various applications. Email messaging, various third party applications, and hundreds of patents inspired several leading high tech clones driving Apple’s popularity and consumer willingness to upgrade iPhones quickly.

It is not surprising that Apple would have something up their sleeve, bringing about various perceptions in the market. The market believes that this processor upgrade rumor will be true and also believe that the new iPhone 5 will have a total redesign. There is also information that Apple is working on mobile phone handwriting recognition. Another important feature that is rolling in the market are Apple phones with face recognition. The iPhone 4, needs an antenna which has been creating some problems in particular areas. Considering that Apple has been introducing one new perspective every year since 2007, it is not surprising that 2011 will not see something unique and innovative from Apple.
