Scammers always look for opportunities to con you online. Use of lucrative offers on the Internet is also not a new trick but people still fall prey to them. This time, cybercriminals are trying to leverage the popularity of ‘Draw Something’ app through Twitter. The popular app was recently purchased by the social game developer, Zynga.
According to security firm Sophos, online scammers are using Twitter accounts and offering rewards and freebies for Draw Something users. Some of the messages read- “5000 prizes to lucky Draw Something fans,” “You’re a lucky Prize Winner,” or “You have been chosen! Claim Your Prize”. These tag lines are followed by a link that will navigate you to drawsomethingwinner.com.
Then, you will be asked to fill out a survey after which you can win attractive gifts. This offer is nothing but a false tactic to get your personal online information. So, if you want to stay secured, don’t rely on such hot offers at all.
