Google Chrome is indeed a wonderful browser which comes with some great features. It has presented some innovative facilities that have helped the developers of applications. It has also come up with additional facilities that the other browsers do not offer and hence emerges quickly as a much appreciated and favored browsers for the developers too.

It has time and again given a lot of APIS and Development features and now it has come with an awesome screen orientation awareness feature which enhances the programming capabilities of a mobile application programmer. Earlier when they created several mobile applications then screen orientation used to be a major hitch. The programmers found it difficult to determine the way the web based mobile application would look on the small screens of the cell phones.

To cater to this screen orientation problem the big giant in IT industry, Google has presented the best alternative. They have come out with an APIs that are called the Accelerometer. The Accelerometer is an application programming interface that has been integrated with the web kit that comes with a HTML rendered. With the help of this feature, the developers would be able to estimate the performance of their applications and also monitor how the changes made by them affect the orientation. It is a collection of APIS that are created around the Device Orientation Event Specification. The Device Orientation is a standard writing which has been created to specify the DOM events that are used to check the changes in orientation and also measure the accelerometer activities.

Indeed Google does have some ownership of the standard as the Device Orientation draft was co- created by the Google Engineer, Steve Block. He worked on the web kit implementation for the Device Orientation benchmarks  and thus when the code first launched it was integrated in web kit however it was given only for the Google Android Platform but now it would be presented on the Chromium platform too.

The Accelerometer would definitely accelerate the performance of the mobile phone application developers.  On the other note, the Screen Orientation Awareness means that the creators of the applications would require having some applications that would be able to check and notify about the screen rotations. When they detect the rotations then the application should have the provisions to react in a specified manner correctly.

With the help of this feature various developers would be able to keep a record of orientation of the devices with the JavaScript code and also carry out programmatic actions that can react on the changes in orientation. Such aspects are already presented by the Mozilla Firefox. However the accelerometer support is indeed something unique for the Google Chromium.

It would definitely be a great thing for the Chromium as the feature can be good for the Google Chrome Operating System coming out for the tablet devices soon.  Google Chrome has yet been too hyped and it is assumed that a lot of people would be actively using the new feature for the mobile phone application development. Thus indeed Accelerometer in Google Chromium would be wonderful for all.
