The good news for Google Chrome users is that it has come with a new function that it can completely avoid resource access from direct loading in the browser. The latest use of AdBlock extension in Chrome is making use of “Beforeload” function that can keep ads in hidden form. The direct downloading of ads is discarded through this function. Google chrome is the tool that has come up with AdBlock and add-on Firefox.

The management of Chrome extension is maintained by developer Michael Gundlach. Other developers also worked for blocking ads as soon as it gets downloaded.

Google commenced Chrome to extension in the month of December but now the AdBlock extension is just restricted to keep ads hidden and no blocking is involved therewith. Gundalach informed that initially Firefox had the ability to block the resources before it gets downloaded, but the chrome extension came into the market. They became inoperative and were not effective tools as Firefox was. He further stated that they have been working to make those hidden ads to appear and download immediately. He added that they have also been working with the rules that are in accordance with Cascaded style sheets which display the message that do not show these ads.

There is still confusion when the “Beforeload” event is fired and included into chrome, however, the strange thing is that it was not added by Google. Apple included it by making additions to the open source webkit engine that has been used by chrome, and as a consequence, it resulted as a Google browser. The present available version of Google chrome is version 5. Googler Aaron Boodman shows his gratitude to Apple for their help.

In the month of February, Boodman proposed his opinion in the Chromium project that it is essential to block images, plugins as well as iframes when browsing is carried out. This can be inherited through blocking ads and flash. In his official announcement on 15th of June, he told that “beforeload” event was ready.

Chrome 5 and Beforload

Chrome 5 consisting of beforeload event had been released 3 weeks prior. Boodman informed that beforeload is not exactly the complete solution to overcoming blocking of resources problem. This feature is well suited for Google chrome. At the same time, Google is searching for more interactive tools.

In the mean time, Gundlach also connected AdBlock extension to Apple safari which makes use of Webkit engine. Firefox was in a position to gain 25% of the browser market in maximum portion because there have been many extensions provided. Chrome can be used to block the ads completely.

In some reviews, one poster said that if the facility of blocking the resources were added into chrome then I will use only chrome. It was further added that in blocking, it is not as helpful as Firefox was. Firefox is still more powerful. With reference to the online research, 23.81% of the browser market has been controlled by Firefox whereas Chrome captured around 7.84 % and it is rising.

As Google is an advertising company, it has bought useful tools for the user. However, if there is a sudden change in the market and if ad blocker is present for browsing, most of the internet users will definitely prefer to install the same.

In short, by using AdBlock and add-on Firefox extensions, Google Chrome provides the ability to prevent the resources from getting loaded in the browser.
