While surfing the Internet, we usually visit several web pages, some which we like and some others which we don’t. Well, every time we visit a webpage using Internet Explorer as a browser, it initially checks if the particular web page with its components such as videos and pictures are stored in the Temporary Internet Files. The Temporary Internet Files is mainly a folder or a directory that is located in your hard disk and is used by your latest version Internet Explorer for storing certain web pages and its data that you have visited. Well, in case if the webpage was previously visited then it will be stored in the Temporary Internet files and the next time you open the webpage, Internet Explorer will simply use your Internet to check out whether the web page has changed since its previous visit. Well, if the page remains same as it was previously then the page will load faster than earlier using the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Deleting Files

However, with every website you visit, the Temporary Internet files get overloaded with the information of the newly visited websites. Hence, it gets important to delete these files that are stored by Internet Explorer into your computer. These files usually store the data regarding the cookies, web pages, forms, passwords and other temporary information of sites that were recently visited by you. Hence, it is important that you delete the data very carefully using the below mentioned steps.

Delete Temporary Internet files for Internet Explorer 7:

  1. Click the Start Button and then Click onto the Control Panel. Now, Click on the Network and Internet options. Here, Click on Internet Options to open the Internet Options page.
  2. Now, Click on the General tab. Hereby, Click on Delete, below the Browsing history section.
  3. Here, Click on Delete all option. In order to confirm your decision for deleting all the information, click Yes. Then finally click OK.

Delete Temporary Internet files for Internet Explorer 8:

  1. Click the Start Button and then Click onto the Control Panel. Now, Click on the Network and Internet options. Here, Click on Internet Options to open the Internet Options page.
  2. Click on the Safety Button. After this, click on the Delete Browsing History option.
  3. Hereby, select the various checkboxes located right next to the categories that you wish to delete.
  4. Now, select the Preserve Favorites website check box if you wish to save certain cookies, files and other data associated with the given list of websites within your Favorites record.
  5. Well, now click on the Delete option. This process will take some time, especially if you have a huge history of websites and files. Finally Click on OK.

Although, you should not forget that this process of deleting the Temporary Internet Files is exclusively for the latest versions of Internet Explorer, the Internet Explorer 7 and 8. Well, as for the other browsers, they have their own system of deleting the information that is stored into the temporary Internet files.
