Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) was released on 14th March, 2011 by Microsoft. Internet Explorer 9 is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008, but not with Windows XP. The minimum system requirements to install Internet Explorer 9 are a 1 gigahertz processor, 512 MB RAM, 70MB-200MB free hard disk space, and a 800 X 600 resolution monitor. Windows operating systems that are supported by Internet Explorer 9, include Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit versions, Windows Server 2008 32-bit and 64-bit, and Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.
Download and install Internet Explorer 9
Internet Explorer 9 can be downloaded from the official website of Microsoft. It is now available for download in several languages. On the download page for Internet Explorer (IE9), choose the language and your Windows version. Now click on the ‘Download’ button. In the file download dialog box, click on the ‘Run’ option. In the ‘User Account Control’ window, you will now have to click on the option ‘Continue.’ After the installation process is complete, you will be prompted to select one of the options, ‘Restart now’ and ‘Restart later.’ The computer will have to be restarted for the installation to take effect. So Internet Explorer 9 has been installed and is ready to be used.
