How to Install Printer for Windows 7

Adding a printer perhaps is a single job once you are sure of the type of your printer. You can use a local printer along with its driver to use while there is another option of using a network shared printer. Printer on local system:

  • Look out for your printer make and model in the list of printers available and select to move ahead. In case the device is not listed, you can still use the Windows Update feature to check for an online solution. On the contrary, if you have a disk containing device drivers, you can use the Have disk feature to locate and install drivers.
  • Once done, click finish and your printer is ready to work.

Printer shared on network:

You would certainly come up with such printers while being in your offices and workplaces. Such printers act as stand alone on the network and you just need connectivity as to make sure that you have an online access. Follow the following steps in order to add a printer over on the network:

  • Open the Start menu, then Devices and Printers.
  • Click on the link to Add a Printer.
  • In the welcome screen, click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.
  • The system is going to list all the related devices on the network resources shared on the workgroup or domain that you will be using. Select the appropriate printer and move to the next step.
  • The system might ask you for a driver, locate and install the driver. You must be familiar with the passwords in case it does not give you an access without password.
  • Move to the next step and finish the wizard.
