  1. Smart Surfing
    While surfing keep all your private information private only. You should hide your private informations like full name, home address, company name, company address, passwords, bank account number etc. Generally proper company doesn’t ask for any such private information to be filled online. So if some company is asking then it’s not good and if you required giving private information then, verify the company details properly. While chatting in the chat room use your nick name, so that you don’t feel uncomfortable and no one can recognize whether you are male or female.
  2. Avoid Online
    Your emails are private but still can be accessed by hackers. Spam, like advertisement, harassing messages is really very irritating. So, in that case if you can’t recognize any sender then don’t open that email or don’t download any files from it. Immediately delete that mail to avoid such Spam. There are certain softwares which can help you to get rid of such harmful hackers.
  3. Update your system regularly
    Microsoft continuously provides security updates and version updates for each of its products. To preserve high level of security on your computer you or your IT department should never forget to apply updates for all Microsoft products. Make sure that you are using latest updated version of internet explorer. To check the latest version of your internet explorer go to “Help” menu and click on “About Internet Explorer” from the menu items. Then one popup window will come to your screen, which shows latest version, Cipher Strength and Update Version information. If the browser needs updating then you can get latest updates from the Microsoft Update Website.
  4. Limit your intake for cookies
    A cookie is a small file used to store user Id, Password, preferences, personalization, etc. Whenever you visit any website again and again each you no need to provide some preference related information, as it will be stored inside cookie. But you will never know whether these cookies are harmful to your system or not. A harmful cookie can collect your personal data from your system and which will be dangerous to you. So to avoid this in Internet explorer, go to “Tools->Internet Options->Privacy”. In the Privacy tab move the slider up and down to adjust the security level. If you move it up then security will increase. Then click on “Sites” button and enter desired address in “Address of website” textbox. Click “Block” button to block this unwanted site.
