Internet Explorer 8 came into the market to revive the declining position of Microsoft in the Browser Market. The browser came up with marvelous improvements that made it retain a share of 14% in the browser market with a strong competition with many of the browsers around the world. Though there were a number of flaws as well, but that too, didn’t make a lot of difference actually and the popularity is still on a hike. The next arrival in the form of Internet Explorer 9 seems to be something even better in the future.

You can sort out many issues that might rise in the internet explorer. You just need to make sure that you are readily connected to the internet before troubleshooting the speed issue. In case you have a nice internet connection and you still have problems with the experience, start troubleshooting in the following ways. Make sure that you follow them in the order specified to make sure that you have a quality result at the end.

Disable Add-ons

Add-ons are meant to enhance your browsing experience but they can interfere with other software on your computer resulting into a slow response ultimately. They might also conflict with an application or a script making the error. You can try and use the internet explorer without add-ons to see if that makes a difference. The Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) can be found by writing internet explorer in the search box of the Start Menu in your Windows 7.  You can even locate this in the All Program, Accessories and then in the System Tools Menu.

Once your internet explorer responds well without the add-ons, you need to have the Add-on manager disable all the add-ons so that you can have an experience with better performance. You might also try and turn add-ons off and on one by one to make sure of the one that is really causing the error. You can even close toolbars in the internet explore by clicking the “x” button at the corner of the toolbar. If there will be any add-on associated with the toolbar the Internet Explorer is going to prompt you.

You can access the Add-on manager within the Internet Explorer in the Tools menu and then Manage Add-ons.

Reset Internet Explorer settings

In case the add-on disable makes no difference, you can try and reset the Internet Explorer to the default state. All changes and settings that you have made will be restored and the Internet Explorer will get to the factory state. You need to close all the Internet Explorer Windows and Windows Explorer Windows prior doing this. Open Internet Explorer from the Start Menu and click on Tools. Go for the Internet Options and move to the Advanced Tab. You will see the Reset button there. Reset the Internet Explorer and click Close and then OK. Restart the Internet Explorer for the changes to take place.

Update Internet Explorer

After trying both the disabling of add-ons and the resetting method; it is time that you move on to reset your Internet Explorer. This can be done quite easily. Go back to the Internet Explorer through the Start Menu and Run the Windows Update through the Safety Button in your copy of Internet explorer. Follow the instructions on the update page and update your internet explorer.
