One of the fake messages generated by the fake System Security program is the System Security Firewall. For those who are not aware of the program, it is a computer infection that disguises itself as a legitimate Antivirus program through displaying messages, warning you of viruses that have been found on your disk drives. In actuality, these viruses do not exist and the program only fools you into buying the complete software package. The messages that appear are fake and the only problem on your PC is the System Security program itself.

Instructions to Uninstall System Security Firewall

Coming back to the Firewall generated by the application, it must be permanently removed along with other spyware and alerts that have found their way into the system. They can all be removed by going through different procedures, as mentioned below.

Instructions to end System Process:

Step 1: Right click on the taskbar but only on a blank space and not on any one of the icons. From the list of options, select ‘Task Manager’.

Step 2: In the Task Manager window that opens up, click on the ‘Processes’ tab and then select ‘systemsecurity.exe’.

Step 3: Click on ‘End Process’ and close the Task Manager from the ‘X’ button on the top right corner of the screen.

Deleting the Registry Entry:Step 1: On the bottom left corner of your desktop screen, click on ‘start’ and select ‘Run’. If you are using a Windows Vista or Windows 7, the ‘Run’ window can be accessed by simultaneously pressing the Windows key and the ‘R’ key on your keyboard.

Step 2: In the window, type ‘regedit’ and then click on OK to start the Registry Editor.

Step 3: The following registry entry needs to be found for deleting.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run systemsecurity.

Step 4: Once the entry is deleted, close the Registry Editor.

Deleting Files and Folders:

Step 1: Click on the ‘Search’ option after selecting ‘start’ from the desktop screen.

Step 2: To select the hard drive, click on the drop down menu and then check the ‘All Files and Folders’ option.

Step 3: In the space, type ‘system security’ and then press the Enter button. All the search results that come up should be deleted.

Step 4: Again type in ‘ws’ and ‘system security.lnk’ and these search results should be deleted as well.

Step 5: The computer needs to be restarted now.

It must be ensured that only the listed registry entry should be removed to avoid damage to your operating system.

Apart from following the above steps, you can also download and install malware removal applications into your system. CCleaner and Superantispyware are important tools often used for such purposes. In addition to being a fake program, the System Security application can also do enough damage to your hard drives and must be removed as soon as possible. By downloading such Antimalware software, updating it and running a full scan on your computer would be an additional help in this matter.
