Antivirus programs are the backbone of the IT sector in today’s world. These are very important since they are required to prevent, detect and remove security threats that include Computer Viruses, Worms and Trojan horses. These threats actually sneak into the computers through the Internet or other external devices (Pen Drive). There are many Antivirus Software available in the market to tackle this problem, namely McAfee, Norton, Avira etc and one of the common names is Webroot.
Webroot was founded in 1997 by an entrepreneur Steven Thomas. It was designed to protect the privacy of the user by permanently removing all traces of your web browsing history and other personal data saved on a PC.
There are two methods mentioned below for removing Webroot Antivirus:
Method One: Remove/Uninstall Webroot AntiVirus via Control Panel
For Windows Xp:
Step1: Click on the start button and choose control panel. It will open the control panel window.
Step 2: From the control panel window double-click the Add/Remove Programs option to open the list. It will show you the list of programs installed on your computer. Now choose Webroot AntiVirus from the list by clicking it once.
Step 3: To remove it click change/remove or remove button And at last reboot the computer.
For Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Step 1: Click on the start button. Now click Control Panel to open the Control Panel window.
Step 2: To populate the list of installed programs, click Uninstall a program in control panel and select the Webroot AntiVirus from the list to uninstall it.
Step 3: Now click on Uninstall (or uninstall/change) which will remove the Webroot Antivirus. Now reboot the computer to complete the last step.
Method Two: By using QuuSoft Uninstaller to remove/uninstall Webroot AntiVirus:
Step 1: For this you have to download QuuSoft Uninstaller from this web page: http://www.quusoft.com/products/ and install this software on your PC. You can do it by selecting the download option and then following the steps displayed on the screen.
Step2: After installing QuuSoft Uninstaller double-click it to open and then choose Webroot AntiVirus from the list.
Step 3: Now click Uninstall to start the uninstall procedure and then follow the instructions being displayed on the screen. After finishing the uninstall procedure restart your computer.
Step 4: To remove the remaining Webroot Folders reboot your computer in Safe Mode. Now open QuuSoft Uninstaller again and then click Force Uninstall and then click OK and click the button opposite to scanning program path to remove the left over files of Webroot Antivirus.
Step 5: Further navigate to the installation path of Webroot in the pop-up windows and then select Webroot and follow the on-screen instructions to completely remove the Antivirus. By doing this you have completely removed the Webroot Antivirus and now exit the Quusoft Uninstaller.
By using the above two methods one can easily get rid of the Webroot Antivirus. Now you’re free to choose an Antivirus program for your machine.
