Apple in a move to reclaim its market presence has launched updated versions of its critically acclaimed Apple iDVD and MacBook Air. For iDVD apples updates bring compatibility to iPhoto 11while sending slideshows. It requires iDVD 7.x and Mac OSX 10.6.6. The update is of 34.53 MB and is a must for all iDVD 7.x users. The MacBook Airs update is for proper functioning of the sleep mode for MacBook air. The update referred to as software update 2 requires Macbook air OS X 10.6.5 and is of 342 KB. That tackles what is quite a nagging problem for some users: an Air’s inability to go to sleep. Apple has introduced so many software updates related to graphics and the most recent update to address problems with booting or waking to black screen or the system becoming unresponsive when put on sleep. These update can be found at Apples website.

It is rumored that apple might also be planning to launch a widescreen version of MacBook Air with 1080p having a 15 inch screen. It is said to be based on Intel’s new ultra-low voltage Core 2 processors. It is said to be offering an optical drive, faster processors and more ports. Also a Firewire is rumored to be in the pipeline.  Apple MacBook Air is currently in market with its 11 inch and 13 inch screen laptops priced at 999$ and 1299 $.  Also another surprise in planned with a drop in price of the must have Apple iPad. It is rumored that a 16Gb WiFi version of the iPad could be available for 399$. With this drop in price the critics who earlier claimed macbook Air to be a rundown version of iPad will now be silenced with the propsed price difference. It will help Apple to extract maximum profit from the two devices by giving them vastly different price tags.

The current MacBook Air isn’t a lot different from its predecessors but is widely touted as being much more solid than earlier generations. It has Apple’s signature unibody construction. They have seen a few nips and tucks with the 13 inch model just 12.8 inches by 8.9 inches with a max thickness of 0.68 inches and weighs just a little over 2.5 pounds. Whereas the 11 inch version seems skinny in comparison to its bigger brethren measuring 11 inches by 7.5 inches and weighing 2.3 pounds. They both come with a buttonless trackpad and without a backlit keyboard. Its squared of inches and sharper edges gives it a more compact look. It comes with a 1.14 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of Ram and an integrated graphic card, not quite high end but will get the work done.
