Microsoft is the largest software company in the world. They have developed and launched some of the most innovative and best software. Microsoft has now launched the latest version of the Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit. Microsoft provides the MAP toolkit under the free solution for Acceleration series which is available for download on the official website of Microsoft. Previously it was available in beta form. There are several new features included in this version, like it has the ability to assess what is required for migration to Windows Azure and SQL Server.

Microsoft toolkit MAP 5.5 is compatible with other Solution Accelerator Software for example, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Security Compliance Manager.  MAP 5.5 is compatible with these software kits. Microsoft products like Windows and other software get the recommendation from the toolkit about the compatibility.

The MAP 5.5 checks an organization’s network for relational database management systems, web apps and servers running Internet information services to assess the Microsoft Windows Azure cloud platform’s migration possibilities. It checks for MySQL, Oracle and Sybase databases. MAP 5.5 is also used to check the hardware and software readiness for virtualization and helps in the server consolidation project. There are also several other features including the support for a number of Microsoft product migrations like switching to Microsoft Office 2010, Windows 7, SQL Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2. One of the coolest features is that it can track Microsoft software licensing use across a network.
