One of the predominant editions of Linux operating system – Ubuntu will be ported on Android devices and it will make its first appearance at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.

Canonical, an independent firm which is continuously working to make Linux operating system shine amongst other platforms, has announced to release the Ubuntu edition of Linux software for Android devices.

The Ubuntu for Android software is purely based on an open-source code that will be integrated on forthcoming Android devices. And both Android and Ubuntu will work on the same kernel architecture. The mobile OS will allow you to use your Android smartphone like a mobile handset and a fully functional desktop PC at the same time.

The moment you would attach your phone to an external monitor, the Ubuntu for Android will get enabled to give you a facility of using a desktop OS. This way, you can manage all of your mobile contacts and other important data directly from your Android phone.
