What seems to be on the mind of every tech-savvy individual is the recent alliance announced by Citrix and Microsoft, aptly called V-Alliance. V-Alliance is a global initiative intended to deliver refined virtualization solutions to partners, thereby enabling them to engage in state-of-the-art virtualization opportunities at any point with pivotal customers.
Before we get down and dirty, let’s first take a look at the history between Citrix and Microsoft spanning from the years 2008-2010.
January, 2008: Citrix Systems announced an expanded alliance with Microsoft to deliver a coherent set of virtualization solutions to address desktop and server virtualization needs to ensure a continued interaction and operation between the two technologies.
February, 2009: Citrix Systems extended its collaboration with Microsoft in their server virtualization market with Project Encore, which was the harbinger for a new product, Citrix Essentials.
July 13th, 2010: Citrix Systems announced to be working with Microsoft in an expanded global partnership called V-Alliance, which aims to deliver an extensive and comprehensible set of virtualization solutions addressed to customer needs in regards to desktop and server virtualization.
“We are continually looking for ways to work with Microsoft to add value to our joint channel. V-Alliance is the latest effort to do just that. This program will give our joint partners the information and resources they need, so they may more effectively deliver the kinds of virtualization solutions that the market is looking for,” said Tom Flink, Vice president of channel and emerging products, Citrix.
And aptly stated by Ross Brown, vice president, worldwide partner sales, Microsoft , “The Microsoft-Citrix relationship which goes back more than two decades has always been about delivering solutions that enable our customers to be more productive. V-Alliance is our latest effort to ensure that our joint partners around the world are always fully equipped to deliver the broadest array of virtual computing solutions to the market that only Microsoft and Citrix can offer.”
Anyone looking to register for V-Alliance must be enrolled in the Microsoft Citrix AND Partner Network as Citrix Solution Advisor, System Integrator, ISV or LAR.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A PARTNERSHIP?
As a member, affiliated partners are privy to special sales and marketing tools, promotions, content as well as promising training offered from both Citrix and Microsoft. System integrators and resellers who wish to take their virtualization to the next level are benefitted by the V-Alliance initiative. Registered members are also liable to receiving free training vouchers for key Citrix products as well as discounted exam vouchers issued by Microsoft.
