Method 1: Downloading from the net manually
Step 1: Visit the windows update site for downloading the new service pack. You can also download Service Pack 3 from any of the sites offering.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Express’ link.
Step 3: SP3 will automatically get selected amongst the updates. Simply click on ‘Install’ and the updates will get downloaded and installed.

Method 3: Turning on Automatic Updates
Step 1: Go to ‘Start’ and click ‘Run’.
Step 2: Within the text box, type sysdm.cpl.
Step 3: Go to the ‘Automatic updates’ tab and select the option that says ‘automatic’. Select the time for the automatic updates to download and happen. Press Enter or click OK.
This will turn on your computer’s automatic updates and the computer will automatically download the latest service pack available.
