There are language packs available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise edition. Windows 7 language packs can be easily installed from the Optional Updates section in Windows Update, however these language packs are not available on the Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server and cannot be downloaded through the Microsoft Download Center.

How to Install a Windows 7 Language pack?

To install a Windows 7 Language pack go to the start menu and type Microsoft Update and then open the same. Then you need to select the optional updates link for the language packs for selecting the desired language pack.

Please note that Installation of multiple language packs may hamper the system performance and will also result in more space consumption of the hard drive. To be precise the disk space and system performance are affected during servicing operations, such as Service Pack installations, so it is recommended that you only add a language pack to your computer if you will use the language pack. After selecting the desired pack click on OK and then click on Install updates to initiate the download and installation process of these updates. During the installation of the language pack you can change the interface language of Windows 7 to the language of your choice.

How much disk space is required for installing a Language Pack?

Laguage packs are large in size because they contain their language specific code which enables the user to see different languages. They also contain dictionaries of that language and this adds up to the size. This is why the language packs are big in size and takes considerable amount of time in installing and making the necessary changes in Windows files. Therefore it is advised to keep the language of only those languages which you use because a language pack utilises the precious resources of your machine.
