Microsoft Research gave demonstration of its new and fascinating technology concepts during the Microsoft TechForum. Three tech concepts were showcased by the Microsoft research team that included Illumishare, Interactive 3D desktop display, and the Holoflector augmented reality mirror. All these concepts will find diverse applications in gaming, education, and business fields.
The Holoflector technology concept features a transparent mirror, which is placed in front of an LCD screen in such a manner that the user can see both his reflection as well as any virtual element displayed on the screen behind the mirror. By using the sensors of Microsoft Kinect and its motion capturing capabilities, virtual reality elements can be combined with physical reality for a blended visual on the mirror.
The Holoflector can also superimpose graphics on your body when you look into its mirror. This particular feature can enhance your gaming or entertainment experience in the future.
