Microsoft® Fax Server Support

Microsoft® fax server can be used to configure fax devices to the network computers. The key role of the Fax server is to manage shared fax resources efficiently. Fax Server role can be configured on a system running Windows Server 2008 with the authentication from Server Manager End. An ideal fax server performs the below key role:

  • Configure fax devices
  • Manage users
  • Install routing policies for incoming faxes
  • Set up rules for outbound faxes to specific device groups
  • Manage achieve faxes that have been previously sent or received
  • Configure logging to track the use of fax resources

Now the fax user can manage to send, receive by using a network fax device.

If your operating system is not configured with Microsoft® Exchange and Microsoft® Fax components follow the below-mentioned steps to install them:

STEP 1: Underneath the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

STEP 2: Select the Windows® Setup tab, click the Microsoft® Exchange and Microsoft® Fax check boxes to select them, and then click OK.

STEP 3: Under the Inbox Setup Wizard, click Finish, and then click Yes to restart your computer if you are prompted to do so.

Conjugate Microsoft® Fax with a Microsoft® Exchange Profile with the below mention etiquettes:

STEP 1: Close Microsoft® Exchange if it is running.

STEP 2: Under the Control Panel, double-click Mail And Fax.

STEP 3: If your recipient is not a default profile then click Show Profiles, click the profile you want to use to send faxes, and then click Properties. If the profile you want to use to send faxes is the default profile, skip to step 4.

STEP 4: Click Add on the Services tab, click Microsoft® Fax in the list of available information services, click OK, and then click Yes in the dialog box that appears.

STEP 5: Select the User tab, mention your name under, your Full Name box, and then type your area code and fax number in the Fax Number boxes.

STEP 6: Navigate to the Modem tab, click the modem you want to use to send faxes from list of available fax modems, and apply it.

Once you have configured Microsoft® fax server Sending and Receiving Faxes is a cup to tea for you. You can do it as follow:

STEP 1: From the start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Fax, and then click Compose New Fax.

STEP 2: Create the new fax under Compose New Fax Wizard, and then press Finish.
