In an unexpected move, Chief software architect of Microsoft, Ray Ozzie has decided to give in his resignation.
Considered as the main proponent of cloud computing, Ray Ozzie had joined the Microsoft in 2005 as chief technology officer after his company’s acquisition by Microsoft.
The unexpected resignation was not called for as Ozzie had played a concrete role is shifting the focus of Microsoft from desktop computing to cloud computing. Over the course of five years Microsoft has emerged as a major player in cloud computing. After taking the direct role from Bill Gates as the main software head Ray Ozzie had brought out new products and innovations in the company’s inventory.
Markets also did not respond positively to the result as Microsoft shares dropped 2.2% after hearing the news.
