It must have been a dull Christmas for those who got a brand new Sony PlayStation 4 or Microsoft’s Xbox Live, but did not get to enjoy the real fun of owing it. They must have planned to spend their holidays in playing online games on Sony PlayStation and Xbox Live, but it all just disappeared. It is so as the computer networks for Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation 4 video game consoles were off line for the entire Christmas, due to an attack by a group of hackers called Lizard Squad.
Some Gamers Face Access Issues :
However, the recent and the current updates on the same is that services for both – Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox Live have been restored. The network issues that prevented users from logging in to the networks have been resolved. As for now, some gamers are able to gain access to the network and connect with their friends and play online games. However, some gamers even took to the site to complain about the continuing network issues.
The hacker group that disrupted these two gaming networks took the responsibility in open for bringing down the both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in early December and August of this year.
Notably, Sony has been the victim of some prominent security breaches, including the one where Sony Picture’s computer system was hacked in protest of the film ‘The Interview’, which depicted the assassination of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
