Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program from Microsoft corp. Other than creating and editing databases and tables Excel is also capable of creating bar codes. If a macro-based function is used Excel is also capable to create bar codes for any given formula. You can even print these bar codes and you can use them for all the products you are selling or planning to sell.
The following are the simple steps that you need to follow to print bar code on Microsoft Excel.
From the start menu launch Microsoft Excel from the Microsoft Office. From the drop down menu click on the “Tools” option. From there, select the “Macro” tab and then choose “Security”. Do not forget to set it to “medium” option. If you are using Office 2007, then click on the Microsoft Office button at the top left corner and select “Excel Option”.
Now you have to choose the “Trust” Centre Settings” under the Trust Center category. And then Click on “Macro Settings” that prompts in front of you. Do not forget to put a check mark next to “Enable all macros.” Now click on the “File” in the drop-down menu just to select the option “New.” When you have done this then to get a prompt you need to select “Enable Macros”.
In column A enter the formula for your specific bar code, which is your first column. Try to use only numbers and/or letters while developing your bar code formula and do not add any spaces between the characters.
Increase the width of Column B, that column which is next to the first column from last step. Click on the line that divides Column B and Column C and drag it to your right until you have created enough space for the bar code.
The formula that you developed clicks on it and type it in Column A from the previous step. Then right click on it to select “Copy”. A right clicks on the next cell in column B to select “Paste”. To click on all the formulas in column B double click on it. From the drop down menu select the “Font” option.
Select “Bar Code” which will transform the formula into a bar code.
The one with the bar code select that and click on the “File” menu and then again select “print”. Select the option “Selection” under the print category and then again select “Print” to end the task.
