Facebook, being one of the top social networking Website’s, has once again shown its popularity in the world of social networking. Facebook has released new Plugins, which has been installed by more than 50,000 websites as a core component of the Facebook’s new Open Graph initiative.
Last week, during the F8 conference in San Francisco, Facebook launched the Open Graph API and these new Plugins. The API along with the complex protocol create and allow a more personalized web browsing experience for the user throughout Facebook. These plugins allow the user to become interactive with a number of websites and can do various activities like logging in. Though the concept behind these plugins was not welcomed by everyone as the topic is really debatable, however the results of these plugins are not astonishing. Among the various issues raised regarding these plugins, none have stopped or slowed the growth rate of the popular social networking website.
The website figures that have integrated the social plugins from Facebook clearly show the popularity of Facebook. Last week Facebook launched these plugins with just 75 partners but in a week’s time the figure has been transformed to more than 50,000 websites.
With more than 425 million users across the globe and almost 300 websites adding these plugins per hour, Facebook has clearly shown its intention to become the central point or hub of the web.
