  • Incorrect configuration or corrupt device drivers
  • Insufficient space in the hard disk or partition
  • Damaged or corrupt Windows registry
  • Installed software that is not compatible with OS


Even though this error may signify Blue Screen of Death, there is no need to panic about it. Here are the different solutions you can try that can help fix this error in no time.

Solution 1: Uninstall Software or Hardware

The very first thing that you can do is uninstall the recent software or hardware that you added to your system. Uninstalling the same can fix the error as incompatible software can also cause this error. Just go to the Control Panel and uninstall it from there. If you have added more RAM or Graphic Card, then you can remove it as well. Now Boot the PC and check if the error is fixed.

Solution 2: Startup Repair

  1. Insert the installation device in the right port or drive
  2. Select the preferred language, time, currency format, input method and then click Next
  3. Click, ‘Advanced Options > Automatic Repair’ and then select the operating system
  4. The computer should automatically launch repair
  5. Once the process completes, check if the error is resolved

Solution 3: Use A Configuration That Worked Previously

  1. Start or restart the computer and then press F8 repeatedly before the appearance of Windows logo
  2. Select the configuration in the options menu
  3. Press Enter
  4. The computer will restart automatically
  5. Check if the error is now resolved

Solution 4 – Disable Mis-configured Services

  1. Start or restart the computer
  2. Press Win + R keys to open Run box
  3. Type, ‘msconfig’ in the run box and hit Enter
  4. Navigate to ‘Services’ and check the box that says, ‘Hide All Microsoft Services’
  5. Click on ‘Disable All’
  6. Go to Startup tab and click on ‘Open Task Manager’
  7. Disable all programs that loads Startup
  8. Restart the computer and enable the services one at a time

Solution 5: Restore System

  1. Restart the computer
  2. Press F8 till Windows logo appear
  3. Select Safe Mode and press Enter
  4. Open Command Prompt as Admin
  5. Type, ‘%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe’ and follow instructions that come on the screen
  6. Restart the computer now and check if the error is resolved or not.
